At Villa Kali Ma, we help women heal their bodies holistically. This means we understand every problem that shows up in the body, be it a symptom of addiction, mental illness, or trauma, as part of the deep search to recover wholeness. This is the holistic way, to see symptoms and struggles as part of a larger, positive unity.
For a woman to heal her body holistically, it can be helpful to consider three principles:
1. The Mind Body Connection
The mind and body reflect each other. What exists as thought in the mind comes into physical manifestation in the body, and what we do with the body, in turn, affects the mind. Body and mind, though also existing separately in their own right, are always arising together. Therefore, we heal them together.
2. The Power of Physical Exercise
By nature, we are each given a powerful medicine factory right here in our own bodies. By exercising, stretching, moving, and stimulating our physical bodies to a point of gentle, positive exhaustion, at whatever fitness level is just right for us, we create better sleep, boost immunity, release tensions of mind, and in general create many hormonal, neurochemistry-based solutions to our deepest problems.
Many imbalances can be healed through the path of exercise, movement, and time spent putting our bodies outside in nature.
3. We Are What We Eat
At Villa Kali Ma, we recognize the role of mindful eating, and greater discernment of what we permit to be entered into our bodies, in healing. Through paths of nutrition, sobriety, and mindful consumption, we can improve the contents of our consciousness experiences. Food-as-medicine is an important part of the holistic path.
Why is nurturing the body important in holistic treatment for women?
It might sound silly, but sometimes we need to be reminded that the body is where life takes place. We cannot be happy in other layers of being if the body is hurting, or living in great restriction or imbalance. The body is primary, and without the body’s thriving, little else can do well.
When the body feels good, the other parts of us tend to follow suit. And yet, many of us have been trained to treat our body as a slave to the mind, rather than the home of our being, the one who gives us a foundation for living in the material world in a physical form.
Nurturing the body creates a relationship of love and friendliness with the body, which leads naturally to the body feeling safe enough to create the solutions we have been looking for in our lives. Through the body we receive the energy we are missing, we experience deep delicious safety and comfort, and repattern our tissues to vibrate at happiness rather than looping in old memories of pain and fear.

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese practice promoting health in the body, mind, and spirit through the painless insertion of tiny needles for stimulation of key points and meridians in the body. Villa Kali Ma offers acupuncture as part of our holistic health program for recovering from mental illness, trauma, and addictions.
Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy is available as part of your treatment path at Villa Kali Ma. Massage has been used for thousands of years to bring health and feelings of well-being to the physical body. Reiki with Plant Oils and Crystals
Reiki is a form of Japanese energy work, with many benefits for people healing from mental health disorders, substance addictions, and trauma. Reiki is used to strengthen life force, bringing greater harmony and flow to all layers of your experience, in mind, body, and spirit. Offered together with plant oils and crystals, our Villa Kali Ma reiki sessions bring deep peace and balance.
Outdoor Exercise
Outdoor Therapy is connected to better physical fitness, healthy sleep patterns, having more physical energy, stronger immunity, and a reduction in painful symptoms of mind and body. All Villa Kali Ma treatment tracks incorporate physical movement and time outdoors, as we understand the direct connection between feeling better and spending time moving our bodies in nature.
TRE®/Neurogenic Yoga
We offer TRE® and Neurogenic Yoga at Villa Kali Ma, two powerful approaches that help with healing chronic trauma patterns out of the body.
TRE® stands for Trauma Releasing Exercises and refers to a sequence of exercises tailored to help the body change patterns of holding stress, tension, and trauma in the muscles. Part of the mechanism of releasing is to activate the body’s natural shaking response, which takes place when we are processing energy and letting it go from the body. Neurogenic Yoga, like TRE®, seeks to activate the body’s tremor response, by way of specific yoga postures and breath work.
