We celebrated the official launch of The Retreat, our residential trauma treatment center for women, located in beautiful Rancho Santa Fe, California. This event was an unmissable opportunity utilized to reignite the passion of an individual for this field and the clients they work with.
Dr. Gabor Mate
World-renowned author, trauma expert, and speaker, Dr. Gabor Mate discussed the lifelong impacts of trauma on every aspect of our lives, and his newest book, The Myth of Normal; Trauma, Illness, and Healing in a Toxic Culture.
Dr. Tommy Rosen
We also had the privilege of having internationally renowned yoga instructor and addiction recovery expert Dr. Tommy Rosen, who graciously discussed his book, Recovery 2.0: Move Beyond Addiction and Upgrade Your Life. Through his workshops, courses, destination retreats, and classes, Tommy has helped thousands of individuals in overcoming their addictions and being free.
A Life-Changing Event for Villa Kali Ma
We had the privilege of having an intimate conversation with our guest speakers, Dr. Mate and Mr. Rosen discussing trauma in all its forms, how it affects lives deeply, and how we can begin to start to heal it. During the presentation, there was a book signing and an opportunity to meet the author!
Dr. Mate was able to connect with our shared mission of healing addiction and trauma. As Dr. Mate stated, “Trauma is perhaps the most avoided, ignored, belittled, denied, misunderstood, and untreated cause of human suffering.”
