Healing through Trauma Releasing Exercises and Neurogenic Yoga

Trauma-releasing exercises safely activate a natural therapeutic shaking mechanism in the body called Neurogenic Tremoring. If you are interested in utilizing this self-help tool and promoting personal health, engaging in a personal tre practice by David Berceli can help you release stress and trauma. Introductory workshops and private sessions can help you experience and see if it’s a good practice for your body and self-regulation.

What Does Tre Yoga Stand for? What is Tre Yoga?

TRE® stands for Trauma Releasing Exercises. Tre Yoga is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension, and trauma. David Bercelli developed Tre practice to utilize the body’s natural tremor response to release trauma through seven exercises. A tre provider understands the nuances of tension and trauma releasing and trauma intervention. A certified tre provider can assist you with releasing pent-up stress and overcoming traumatic events.

Stress reduction is huge in trauma recovery and yoga therapy can help with that. Your personal health and mental health matters in your healing process. Chronic stress, chronic trauma, chronic pain, chronic tension, and chronic fatigue can lead to medical conditions and damper one’s life. Release tension is a powerful tool for overcoming personal trauma. Releasing trauma is a great conflict resolution. People report feelings of peace and well-being after engaging in a trauma-release exercise.

How Does Tre Yoga Release Trauma?

Tre Yoga, or trauma-releasing exercises helps release muscular tension and trauma by activating the body’s natural reflex mechanism through trauma-release exercises such as shaking or vibrating. This deep tension created needs to be released. Stress can be built up from a traumatic experience.

Involuntary shaking is one of the ways to release trauma by triggering the psoas muscle. The shaking that is produced is called neurogenic tremors. After experiencing trauma or a stressful event, the body’s natural way of releasing is through neurogenic tremors. The fundamental idea of Tre practice isn’t to relive trauma but to sit on a yoga mat and engage in breathing exercises and trauma-releasing exercises.

What is Neurogenic Yoga? What Does Neurogenic Yoga Combine?

Neurogenic Yoga is a sister method of Tre Yoga. Neurogenic Yoga combines yoga asana and pranayama to activate this Neurogenic Tremoring process. The shaking mechanism is a natural reflex mechanism. This shaking response in humans is much like the instinctual shaking in animals. The nervous system discharges long-held stress tension and trauma or unconscious muscle contraction to restore the body to wholeness.

What Happens When the Nervous System Idenitifes a Threat?

When the nervous system identifies a threat, vibration or shaking in the body is designed to occur automatically. However, negative social constructs and beliefs around what it means to allow ourselves to shake, tremor, or show vulnerability, condition us out of this innate release mechanism at a very early age. When our muscles begin shaking and start engaging in a vibrating mechanism in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return to a state of balance. This practice reawakens our body’s intrinsic release mechanism for optimal health.

Tre Yoga and Neurogenic Yoga are both a simple, gentle, and profound practice that facilitates the lengthening and relaxation of the psoas muscle, the release of physical and emotional stress and tension, releasing stored trauma from the body, and allowing for a reset of the nervous system.
